Forty Poems* Hits the Stage...

Well, this is very cool news…we recently learned that Forty Poems for Forty Pounds is going live. This Sunday, March 12th, the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury, VT, in partnership with NYC’s Project Y Theatre Company and under the direction of Michole Biancosino, will bring Forty Poems* for Forty Pounds to life on stage with 40 community members each taking on a poem from author Trish Dougherty’s popular book of poetry.

Forty Poems* for Forty Pounds is for anyone who has wrestled with self-worth issues because of weight battles or a wonky relationship with food…which, if we’re being honest, is most of us. That’s why we decided to publish it – to share the message that you’re not alone. The poems are honest, vulnerable, and funny and they’ll land with anyone who has a tough time seeing self-acceptance as anything other than a reward to be earned when thin.

If you find yourself near Middlebury, VT this weekend, go check out Forty Poems* for Forty Pounds live on stage. And, if you can’t make it, take a look inside and pick up a copy wherever books are sold.
